Institute of Information Systems – Hilti Chair of Business Process Management

The Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein was founded in the early 1990s and has been continuously growing since then. Members of the institute have published in leading IS journals, including MIS Quarterly, Journal of the AIS, Journal of MIS, and Journal of Information Technology. The institute offers a Master’s in Information Systems with majors in Business Process Management and Data Science, a PhD program in Information and Process Management, and a major in Information Management & IT within the Bachelor’s program in Business Administration.

The institute is a co-founder of the Hilti Fellowship Program that provides highly motivated and committed Master’s students with the opportunity to do an internship at the Hilti Corporation while, at the same time, studying in the Master’s program in Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein. Currently welcoming applications for the 18th call of the Hilti Fellowship.

Since September 2015, students have the opportunity to become a Student Research Fellow at the Institute of Information Systems. The fellowship is open to full-time degree students of the Master’s in Information Systems, as well as Erasmus students. Students will be fully involved in the department’s research activities while at the same time studying for their Master’s degree.

The institute represents the Association for Information Systems (AIS) in Liechtenstein through the Liechtenstein Chapter of the AIS (LCAIS). Iris Junglas (Florida State University, Tallahassee, USA), Marcello La Rosa and Jan Recker (both from the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia), Günter Schmidt (Saarland University, Saarbrücken, Germany), Nicholas Berente (Terry College of Business, Athens, USA), and Christoph Schneider (City University of Hong Kong) have been awarded Liechtenstein Research Fellows and visit the institute on a regular basis.

University of Liechtenstein is ERCIS member since 2007.
