Partner Description
The institute is a member of the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) and represents the Association for Information Systems (AIS) in Liechtenstein through the Liechtenstein Chapter of the AIS (LCAIS).
Being an ERCIS member and situated in the heart of Europe, the institute strives to become a networking hub facilitating the exchange of researchers and students. In the past year, we had the pleasure to welcome distinguished IS researchers, including Marco de Marco (Università Cattolica, Italy), Reima Suomi (Turku School of Economics and Business Administration, Finland), Jan Recker (QUT, Australia), Kai Riemer (University of Sydney, Australia), Christian Huemer (University of Vienna, Austria), and Rick Watson (University of Georgia, USA).
Researchers from the Institute of Information Systems have provided BPM-related courses at different partner institutions, including The University of Barcelona, The University of Muenster, The University of St. Gallen, and The LUISS University in Rome.
The institute organizes the Hilti-Fellowship program, offering committed and determined Master students the opportunity to be part of an international project team at the Hilti Corporation and join seminars in the Master’s program in Business Process Engineering at the University of Liechtenstein. So far we`ve had fellows from Muenster through Jörg Becker, Verona and Rome through Marco De Marco, from Moscow through Victor Nikitin, and from Hong Kong through Doug Vogel.
Jan vom Brocke, head of the institute, is a standing member in the EU Programme Committee of the 7th Framework Research Programme on ICT. Recently, he has been elected member of the European Commission on eSkills. In cooperation with recognized scientists and organizations, including SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, and IBM, the commission serves the further development of IT professionalism in Europe.
