Research Focus
The competence center "BPM in Financial Industries" addresses current business process management (BPM) topics that are of major interest to financial sector institutions - primarily focussing on banks and insurance companies. The main research areas of the competence center currently include:
- business process management
- process architecture / landscaping
- business process modeling
- business process analysis
- process controlling
- process optimization
- process benchmarking
- business process intelligence
- business process compliance management
- process-oriented operational risk management
 
Aim
Its aim is to foster joint research among the partner institutions of the competence center "BPM in Financial Industries," as well as intensify an industry-academic exchange with leading financial sector institutions all over the world, with a current focus on Germany and Australia.
 
Founders
It was founded on October 8th, 2010 by the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) at the University of Muenster, together with the ProcessLab at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management (HfB), the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) from Australia, and the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences.
