Content-Management-Systems administrations are currently able to provide information and communication offers via their websites. In order to take this to the next step and make administration processes executable via the internet, further architecture components are necessary to connect the presentation layer and special procedures. The portal server technology is a promising possibility to realise this.

To evaluate the practical usability of this technology for the demands of public administrations, the project Portal@KomM was initiated. It is the logical consequence of the results of Regio@KomM and continues this work.

On the one hand, the administrations of Hamm and Münster should model 4 business processes. These should subsequently be implemented by T-Com or T-Systems respectively as transaction services on their portal servers.

Parallel to this implementation, processes should be analysed and documented within the scope of accompanying research, so that the reasonability of the portal server technology as such as well as the suitability of the used product can be assessed at the end of the project.
