TransReg is based on existing conceptual and technological preliminary work as well as an already institutionalized research network between Germany and Brazil. A technology and knowledge transfer in the field of administration modernization between the two countries should take place with three main focuses: Front Office Design, Back Office Design and Strategic Management.

In Germany, the ERCIS has developed information systems and methods for the purpose of administration modernization in the areas front office (O.S.I.R.I.S) and back office (PICTURE) as well as instruments for strategic management in the area of political and administration leadership (BASIS). In the scope of the aspired project TRANSREG - German-Brazilian Research Network for eGovernment – it is planned to adapt this technologies according to specifics of the Brazilian administration structures and characteristics of the local structural and process organisation. Furthermore, these technologies should be implemented in a model region and their usefulness should be evaluated.

The following results will be available as results of the project TRANSREG:

• Comparative studies on the administration structures in Germany and Brazil with the potential of actions and technologies in the three mentioned areas in mind
• Select, and adapted for Brazilian conditions, methods, technologies, and software prototypes for administration modernization in the areas of front office, back office, and strategic public administration management
