Reference Modeling 2006 - Reuse of conceptual Softwaremodels for small and medium size Software-Companies by adaptive, component based Reference Modeling: Concept, Modeling Technique and Tool
The early phases in the software engineering process are becoming more important, because making mistakes in these phases result in enormous additional costs. The conceptual specification (Business Engineering) of the business issue is the base for software developement in an engineering way. Reference Models facilitate the Business Engineering and help small and medium size software companies (KMSU) to design their software, especially if additional components for standard or inndividual software have to be deployed.
Aim of the project RefMod06 is the developement of a repository based reference modeling tool. The repository will administer existing reference models of a branch to make a starting basis for own solutions available for the KMSU. Existing reference modeling variations should be selected in a simple way and it should be possible to define own variations, so that client-specific dilutions can be generated.
The underlying modeling technique considers both the project specific composition and the adaption of conceptual components. The customisation affect the model- and the metamodel-layer, because alternative perspectives on the model-system have to be backed up by fading in and out describing circumstances. The modeling technique is complemented by a key figure based controlling concept, which allows an efficient monitoring of software concerning the fitting accuracy to the customers business processes. The changeover from model to software is accelerated by code generators.
