Congratulations to professor Heike Trautmann who received the Pascal chair at the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS) of the University of Leiden!
LIACS joined the European Research Center for Information Systems last year. We are looking forward to strengthen the ties to our new partner through this great cooperation.
This year’s CeBIT – the world‘s leading fair for information technology – takes place from March 20th to 24th 2017 in Hanover, Germany. The ERCIS team
On 7th December 2016, the 9th ERCIS Launch Pad, the annual IT business ideas competition of the European Research Center for Information Systems, concluded with its finale. Continuing the line of last year’s record-breaking number of submissions, the finale filled the halls of Leo 18 with founders and audience beyond its capacities.
A successful collaboration between members of the Group of Information Systems and Statistics from the University of Münster and colleagues from our newest ERCIS partner, the University of Leiden, recently has won the Best Paper Award at the 14th International Conference on Parallel Problem Solving from Nature (PPSN 2016).
Within the MASTIS project, in which several ERCIS partner institutions are invovlved, the latest workshop took place in October 2016 in Kaunas.
For for information about the project, have a look at the website https://165.232.175.63/.
We have four esteemed students writing up and presenting their thesis proposal at our 2016 ERCIS DC, as well as four faculty, providing them with feedback. Way to go! Read who is in and who is not here!
EMO 2017 (March 19-22) is the 9th International Conference on Evolutionary Multi- Criterion Optimization, aiming to continue the success of previous EMO conferences. We will bring together both the EMO and the multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) communities and moreover focus on solving real-world problems in government, business and industry. The classical EMO format will be supplemented by an EMO competition.
The EU-funded ERASMUS+ project "MASTIS - Establishing Modern Master-level Studies in Information Systems" officially started in February 2016 with a kick-off meeting in Lyon. All 18 involved universities presented themselves and their internationalization strategies to the other project partners. Apart from organizational and content-related discussions, we had enough time to get to know each other, think about possible future collaborations and last but not least enjoy the beautiful city of Lyon.
