Department of Digitalization

The Department of Digitalization is one of the largest departments in Europe. It is a multi-disciplinary department that embraces theories and methods from the fields of information systems, business administration, computer science, organization studies, political science, economics, sociology, psychology and communication theory. The mission statement of the department is: Co-creating knowledge with enduring consequences through the study of digital interrelationship among people, data and technology.

We strive for a high level of collaboration with representatives from industry and society (also called engaged scholarship) while also organizing our research to accommodate for the fast-moving pace and radical innovation that characterizes the IS research field. We achieve this by organizing part of our research around themes that address societal or business challenges. The themes are topical, popular, inter-disciplinary and dynamic in nature. In addition to the research themes, the department still maintains the more traditional research areas for the disciplinary development of its researchers.

The faculty of the department are primarily teaching within the following degree programs: BSc in Business Administration and Information Systems, BSc in Business Administration and Digital Management, MSc in Business Administration and Information Systems, MSc in Business Administration and E-Business, MSc in Business Administration and Data Science, and MSc in Business Administration and Innovation in Healthcare.
