This year's Annual Workshop was completely different to the face-to-face meetings we had in the last years at one of the associated partner universities. Due to Covid-19 we decided to not skip the workshop but rather go for a virtual alternative. With over 90 participants the ERCIS Annual Workshop was bigger than ever before and although we could only see each other on the screen, it was like a big family reunion. New partners had the chance to introduce themselves to the network and the competence centers gave an update about their interdisciplinary work. Crispin Coombs presented the state of the paper that resulted from last years workshop in Loughborough and the "strategy task force" presented new ideas for the future of the network.
